Carrot Collage
Altringham Carrot Collage.
Part of my new series of collages based around lost and forgotten foods from the UK. Each collaged person holds a unique and special food item and is dressed in clothes I have designed, inspired by historic photos.
The altringham carrot derives from cheshire. A lovely, long carrot with extra long roots. It fell out of favour in the 1900s due to its long roots. Though this doesn’t detract from its flavour! Lovely raw and in stews.
Paper size: A5 torn to size
This collage has been painted, drawn and cut out by hand.
